FAQs

Which types of photography do you currently shoot?

I am currently shooting branding work (including headshots), videography, action & adventure, architecture, and high school seniors..

I am not currently shooting VRBO’s, real estate, parties, or large groups. I occasionally shoot family sessions for past clients.

Do I get to keep all of the proofed images from my session?

Yes, for all full sessions. All proofed images are yours to download and share personally. Proofed images are available at a size of 8x12 for print or a web resolution version for sharing online. Larger images are available for purchase through my online shop.

Mini Sessions, however, typically only include a small selection of images for download.

What is the difference between a proofed image and a fully edited image?

Proofed images have undergone a large amount of editing to include color balance, contrast and exposure, straightening, and a light skin smoothing, teeth whitening, etc.

Full image edits typically remove things like fly away hairs, mosquitoes in the background, dust, facial blemishes, glasses glare from lighting, etc.

How soon should I schedule my session?

Fall dates typically book up the soonest. I would try to schedule those sessions at least a month out or 2 weeks at the latest. More variety of dates and times are available if you book sooner.

I typically only shoot a certain number of sessions per week. Once those numbers are filled, all the other dates for that week will drop off my availability schedule.

Where do your portrait sessions take place?

I have favorite spots all over McCall. Many are around the lake or on local trails. I love locations where your portraits can have an awesome backdrop and show off the beauty of where we live and vacation. A guide to locations is included in your prep guide that you’ll receive within about a week of booking your session. We can then plan your session based on your preferences for morning or evening and based on the accessibility for that time of year.

What should I wear to a session?

After booking, I like to send out a prep guide based on your specific portrait type to help give you ideas for what to wear and what to throw in a bag to bring along with you. That guide typically goes out within about a week of scheduling your appointment.

What if I’m nervous or don’t like having my photo taken?

My sessions are designed for us to get to know each other and for me to discover your best self in front of the camera. With 30 plus years of taking portraits, I understand the stress anyone can feel when having their photo taken. I have several approaches that have stood the test of time and would like to assure you that although you might still feel nervous, you will probably walk away feeling confident.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes, however I don’t typically advertise them. Mini sessions require a minimum of 2 or 3 participants to move forward (based upon session type). If you are interested and know other seniors, co workers, or families that would be interested, feel free to reach out and we can coordinate.
